When this post goes live, Josh and I will be in Amsterdam and so, what better time to talk all things travel? Let's discuss the key everyday makeup staples that I use when on holiday. Basically, don't expect a full on glam look because when we are spending everyday walking around and being typical tourists, I don't want to have to worry about my eyebrows sliding down my face and my contour looking like mud stripes. I guess you could say I'm going for a casual look...

Max Factor Face Finity All Day Primer

I've been looking for a good primer for a while because I always seem to buy ones that just do not do anything for my skin. When I found this one on Amazon a few weeks ago, I was really excited to try it and it hasn't disappointed. It makes my base make up look much more flawless, which is obviously a bonus and it also has SPF which is really important because you've got to protect your skin - especially in this never ending heatwave.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

This is my everyday foundation and it has been for a while now. I used to use a MAC one but this one is so much cheaper and works much better with my skin. It isn't full coverage but I find that it looks really lovely on the skin and it doesn't feel heavy either. This is perfect for travelling because it's long wearing and it isn't in one of those glass bottles that I'm not constantly terrified about breaking.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer

I often get asked for make up recommendations and I nearly always recommend this to people as it is one of my favourite make up products of all time. I suffer really badly with dark under eye circles and this concealer definitely helps to hide these and brighten up all of those areas on my face that just look a little dull.

Revolution Translucent Pressed Powder

I'm so glad that I discovered translucent powder because I think it looks so much better than a coloured powder that matches your foundation. I've always found that the Revolution powders are really good and they are super inexpensive too. The price makes it perfect for travelling as you don't have to worry about it getting smashed when travelling.

L'Oreal Unlimited Mascara

Another new item to my make up collection but one that is soon becoming one of my favourites. Let's start by saying that the design of this product is really cool and I love the adjustable wand, it's perfect for people like me who somehow manage to ruin every eye look by getting that annoying black mascara dot on my inner lid. Mascara and I do not have a good relationship and my lashes are really quite annoying but this mascara is working really well so far.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

See, I could go for a full on contoured look, but can I really be bothered on holiday? Definitely not. However, I do wonder why I thought my make up looked ok before I used bronzer and contour because wow, I must have just looked like a blank canvas with no dimension to my face. This is forever my favourite bronzer as it works really well with my skin tone and I find it so easy to apply, so it takes seconds for that summery bronzed look that I'm never going to achieve naturally.

Sleek Solstice Palette

I actually did a review on this palette back in 2016. I loved it then and I still love it now. This is normally the only highlight palette that I travel with as it's super compact, has a good range of shades and well, it's just one of my favourites.

CYO Metallic Eye Stick in Clowning Around

I've been wanting to try the Bobbi Brown shadow sticks for so long but unfortunately, my student budget does not allow that. So, when I saw these shadow sticks by CYO in Boots, I just had to try them. They are my favourite. I look the glowy look that it gives to your eyes which gives an effortless shimmer in such a small amount of time. They are so affordable too so if you haven't tried them yet, you need to.

Revolution X Soph Extra Spice Eyeshadow Palette

Sadly, I never got round to purchasing Soph's first Revolution palette but when I saw that the second was released, I bought it very quickly. The palette has a beautiful array of colours and I love the packaging; it's very aesthetically pleasing. The Revolution shadows are always super pigmented and I love that I can create so many looks with it. I don't really like travelling with loads of my high end palettes so this ensures that I can create fun looks, at an affordable price.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in Cathedral

I'm a big fan of the KVD lipsticks, as you probably know from my review on the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick; I find them so easy to apply, they are long wearing and all round wonderful. Cathedral is a beautiful mauve colour that works so well with many of my go to make up looks. Let's not forget that amazing studded design of the lipstick too.
