As we enter the fourth month of the year (seriously, how is it April already?!), I decided that it would be fitting to give an update on how my 2018 goals are going. Have I failed all of my goals already? am I actually succeeding? Let's find out...

- Achieve a good mark in first year

As I haven't fully finished first year yet, I can't really answer this one but right now, I'm hopefully on track for a 2:1 which is what I said I wanted in my post and considering all of the problems that have arised this year, if I manage to get that mark, I will be more than pleased.

- Get to 100,000 page views

In my 2018 Goals post, I seem pretty adamant that this is the most unrealistic of them all. However, I'm at 60,000 already so maybe it is possible? As I will repeatedly say, stats aren't everything but they do help and 100,000 is the number that I've had in my head for the longest time as a sort of  "Oh, I'll never reach that" and so, the fact that it's perhaps possible is the most incredible feeling.

- Advance my writing skills and acquire more writing opportunities

Not to toot my own horn, but I feel as though I'm definitely succeeding with this one. I'm currently a blogger for Unite Students and Liberty Living as well as being a business content and social media assistant intern, all in the first couple of months of the year. I have so many other exciting things lined up for this year too!

- Work on my appearance

Lose weight: Unfortunately, I have not been able to lose as much weight as I want to this year, so far. Hopefully, I manage to lose some more weight in the upcoming months but I can't say I'm succeeding at this one at the moment but hey, there's still time

Cut out sugary drinks: I'm definitely getting there with this one. I'm hoping that in a couple of months, I will have completely cut out most sugary drinks but it's a work in progress, for now.

Become confident in front of the camera: In case you haven't noticed, there has been an increase in photos of me on the blog lately. I've really tried to step out of my comfort zone and have photos taken of me (by a very patient Josh) and although I'm not entirely happy with doing so, and it takes me 903804 attempts to get a photo that I half like, I'm definitely in a much better place with this than I was last year.

Take more time out of my day to do my hair: Yeah, lol no, this one is something that I'm still failing at. I love doing other people's hair but do I do anything more than brush my hair in the morning? Absolutely not.

- Develop make up skills

Well, I haven't had that much time to practice new techniques so far this year but I originally planned for this to be more of a Summer thing anyway. I'm still contemplating joining some sort of course in the summer as I would love to develop my skills. I'm happy with the make up looks that I've been producing so far this year but I do not see a significant improvement yet.

- Save money

Unfortunately, I have not been able to save as much this year as I would like due to well, being a student. However, I have been reducing the amount of pointless things that I buy so I guess that you could count that as saving? In short, train tickets are expensive kids and they will use all of your savings.

- Use Etsy/shop small businesses

Again, due to money, I have not been able to do this so far this year which is a shame as it is something that I really do believe in. However, I do make sure that I promote any small businesses on social media when I can as I think that this is so important. Honestly, I'm just looking forward to living in non-student accommodation so that I can buy ALL of the Dorkface prints. Honestly, if you haven't checked out Jemma's Etsy store, you need to do so! Not only is she so talented at what she does, she's one of my favourite blogging pals!

- Set up an Etsy shop

I've been so busy that I haven't had chance to do this but it's something that I really want to do when first year finishes. I have so many creative ideas and as much as I love writing, I do miss drawing, painting and just making things. I'm going to be running some polls on Twitter soon about potential items so make sure you check those out!

- Think about life after University

This is one that I'm definitely succeeding at! I finally have some sort of idea about what I want to do after university! I want to go into digital marketing and/or writing of some sort and this is probably so vague but hey, it's more than I had a couple of months ago.

- Improve my photography

I'm really trying with this one, especially with flatlays. I feel as though I am making some progress although I'm still not completely happy with my photos, this is something that I definitely want to experiment with more and hopefully produce some content that I'm really proud of by the end of it.

How is 2018 going for you?
