I try and do these posts as often as I can but let's be honest, I just don't have an interesting enough life for constant diary style posts. However, I finished my first year of University over a month ago and I thought it was time to share what I've been up to lately... here's a life update.

a life update

This is going to be in no particular order because well, I'm not organised enough for that but let's start with my biggest purchase of the year; my new laptop. I decided to finally bite the bullet and buy a MacBook Air and I do not regret this decision whatsoever. I've only had it for a couple of weeks now but it's by far my favourite laptop so far.

Second, I received my results back for first year and I achieved a high 2:1 - 68%. While I am annoyed that I was only 2% away from a first, I am pleased with the result after a year of ups and downs; moving to a new flat, friendship issues, strikes and starting a new job being just a few of the things that have happened. Honestly, I did expect a lower mark considering how much I struggled with some of the modules but I guess that you could say that I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so when I saw that I was so close to a first, I do wish I could have managed the extra 2% but hey, maybe next year (I doubt it).

On the same day that I received my results, Josh and I travelled to Cardiff to see Ed Sheeran. I won't go into too much detail about that now though as you can read all about it here. In short, it was an amazing concert and we had a lot of fun.

Then, my mother and I went to see Miss Saigon in the Theatre Royal Plymouth as I bought her the tickets for her birthday and it was amazing. A blog post will be up about the show soon but we thoroughly enjoyed it and it is definitely one that I would recommend to everyone.

For the most part, Josh and I have just been chilling. It's been nice but I'm also super stressed about jobs, money and all of that fun stuff. I don't want to have to go back to working in retail, not that there is anything wrong with it, but it's just not for me as I've had bad experiences in jobs before and the idea of it just makes me feel quite anxious. I want to start doing more work in social media and content writing as that is obviously what I'm most interested in and it's what I want to do after University but it's easier said than done to find that type of work. So, I'm definitely looking forward to going back to Exeter in September to continue with my business content and social media internship. For now, I've just got to hope that some sort of work comes up and I can go back to not being constantly stressed about money.

In other news, I have definitely been addicted to Love Island which I really didn't expect. It's definitely not my usual type of show but I've been enjoying it. I watched season 1 on Netflix a couple of weeks ago and I've started season 2 but season 1 is definitely my favourite out of the ones that I've watched so far; I absolutely loved Hannah and Jon but Naomi made me want to throw my laptop at the wall. In regards to the current season, I love Dani and Jack and despite the circumstances, I think that Josh and Kaz are such a cute couple but Kaz gives me really weird vibes and I can't explain why. As I'm writing this, Samira has just left the villa to go and see Frankie and after everything in the media about Samira and Frankie's relationship being hidden and edited out, especially their night in The Hideaway, I'm even more aware of this constructed reality that I have become obsessed with.

I think that's all. The fact that a lot of this has been spent talking about Love Island sums me up completely.

What have you been up to lately? Let me know!
